PSL 2026 Schedule: All games shifted to Lahore and Karachi

The eleventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was supposed to be played across six venues, including Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi, and Lahore for the first time. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reduced the games to only Karachi and Lahore.

The decision came in the wake of the Iran War and the subsequent closure of several airspaces as well as the Strait of Hormuz. The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, confirmed the change of plans on Sunday. Additionally, all games would be played without crowds to reduce traffic movement in a bid to conserve fuel.

“We can’t ask people to restrict their movements and then have 30,000 people in stadiums every day,” PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had said earlier on Sunday.

“We decided that as long as this crisis is ongoing, we will not have crowds at matches. This was a difficult decision, but it needed to be made. The opening ceremony will also be cancelled.”
