Top Order
The Karachi Kings squad 2026 consists of a dynamic top order with a perfect mix of aggression and stability. Their top order, which also happens to be their core, comprises well-experienced players like Muhammad Waseem, David Warner & Salman Ali Agha. All of them have immense experience in playing T20 cricket all over the globe.
At the top, KK have the luxury of having players who can maximize the power play, David Warner, who strikes at 140 vs pace. Coming from a successful BBL season where he scored 433 runs at a strike rate of 154.09 in just 8 innings, Warner’s form will be crucial for Karachi’s victorious campaign. Additionally, Muhammad Waseem brings a plethora of experience from franchise leagues. Salman Agha’s recent tactical improvisation and growth into a reliable number 3 for Pakistan will provide the same stability to Karachi Kings’ top order as well.

While Reeza Hendricks and Saad Baig may start on the bench, they serve as high-class replacements. If any of the top three becomes unavailable, Hendricks comes in with vast international experience to his name, while Baig provides a reasonable domestic alternative.
Middle Order
The middle order comprises well-known names like Azam Khan, Khushdil Shah, Moeen Ali and Shahid Aziz. Azam Khan, who is explosively dangerous, strikes at 196.2 in death overs (16-20). Beyond the numbers, his immense amount of familiarity with the way the global franchise circuit functions will provide tactical stability to the Kings’ middle order.
Players like Moeen Ali & Khushdil Shah further solidify the squad with their all-round abilities. Similar to Azam Khan, Khushdil Shah also has a high strike rate of 182.4, so the death over striking department is well-secured. Moeen Ali is one of the most famous names when it comes to experience in T20s.
Over the years with England, he has batted at almost every number according to the team’s demand. With this flexibility in his playing style, he will serve as a valuable asset for the Kings this year.
The 22-year-old, Shahid Aziz, although, has limited exposure to competitive cricket under his belt, still appears with promising numbers; 261 runs at a strike rate of 146 and 41 wickets in 33 innings.
Pace-Attack
Karachi’s pace battery will be led by Abbas Afridi, a strike bowler with 24 T20I caps who has also rapidly emerged as a promising all-rounder with his improving batting skills. Joining him is the camp’s most seasoned player, Hasan Ali, who has played leagues all around the world and has 327 wickets in his tally.
Though he possesses a simple action, his mastery lies in his subtle variations. Just like Afridi, he can swing the bat for some valuable runs too. The trio is completed by Mir Hamza, a consistent performer, who has 33 wickets to his name in 28 PSL games. While this attack offers a blend of stability, variations and experience, its effectiveness depends on maintaining composure with respect to the highly volatile nature of T20 cricket.
Initially unpicked due to fitness concerns, Ihsanullah was later drafted by the Kings, further strengthening their fast bowling reserves. He is joined by the UAE’s Khuzaima Tanveer, who also provides a reliable depth if injuries strike the first-choice quicks.
Lastly, Karachi Blues’ Mohammad Hamza, who has an impressive FC record with 76 scalps in just 16 matches, the Kings possess one of the most well-rounded bowling units this season.
Spin Attack
The Kings’ spin department is anchored by the veteran Adam Zampa, who brings both experience and variety to the attack. With impressive numbers against all types of batters, Zampa serves as a primary strike option in middle overs, essential for arresting run rate and breaking crucial partnerships.
Aiding him is a versatile trio comprising Khushdil Shah, Moeen Ali and Salman Agha with their orthodox and offbreak options respectively. This depth gives the Kings significant tactical flexibility to exploit the opponent’s batting lineups with smart match-up options.
