In a historic encounter that will take place in Pakistan, the second leg of FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be a momentous occasion for Pakistani Football enthusiasts. After a wait of 12 long years, Pakistan will be hosting a World Cup qualifier fixture. This is a significant milestone in the journey of Team Green. This is a vital qualifier match for both teams as they will be looking to advance towards the mega event.
Result of Leg 1:
The first leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier 2026 between Pakistan and Cambodia took place at the National Olympic Stadium, in Cambodia. Both teams fought hard to take the lead but had to settle for a draw. The result was a major achievement for the Shaheens as they were on a losing streak.
Major News from the 1st Leg:
In the first leg, Otis Khan, Pakistan’s Star winger, had to miss the encounter due to questions raised by FIFA on his Grandfather’s birthplace. Otis Khan was gutted over his absence from an all-important match. According to Otis,
“To say I’m gutted is an understatement. With the great support and blessing I’ve received from my club manager, supporters and teammates, I’ve travelled thousands of miles around the world to get here and to find out 2 hours before kick-off I’m ineligible to play in a historic game is heartbreaking! How could this happen!? Angry, disappointed, let down, gutted. I don’t know what to say! I am so proud to represent this country and like any young player simply had a dream to play for the National team. Someone needs to answer for this as you’re stopping a simple dream from becoming possible! FIFA please deal with this urgently as I’m sitting in the hotel waiting for you to do your admin!” he said on his official social media accounts.

He answered: “Yes we are gonna miss him a lot. He was a big component of our team. Along with that many injuries have happened in the previous matches. Pakistan are the favourites at the moment but we will give our best”
