The cricketing world was shaken when we heard the news. Television, social media, newspapers!!! The Internet and the news bombarded us with this unfortunate information. Pant had to go through a huge accident. Since then, questions on Rishabh Pant’s comeback have been circulating all over. Are the rumors proven true? Let’s find out.
The Accident Story
On traveling in his car from Delhi to Roorkee, Pant had slept while driving, due to which he suffered many injuries in a high-speed car accident. Miraculously, he escaped from the accident which also was set on fire because of the same. He was full of wounds, bleeding furiously, and yet lucky enough to leave unscathed.
Either way, due to this incident he had to stop playing all cricket for very long. The whole IPL season, and the WTC Final, all were missed. Many cricket fans debate that this is the crucial reason why both these tournaments were lost by their respective teams.
He had to go through surgery, after which we knew that he would be out of action for a very long time
Ever since, all cricket enthusiasts have been anticipating, waiting for Rishabh Pant’s comeback. We might see their prayers answered sooner than later.
Pant on Social Media
Rishabh Pant had posted some videos on his social media, indirectly updating him on his progress to complete recovery. At first, there were videos of him trying to walk again. As time progressed, he uploaded himself working out and going through rehab. His will to recover as soon as possible fueled the expectations of his fans. Many cricketers also wished for his return and appreciated his every step in recovery. He even updated his bio, adding his second DOB (which was the day of the accident)
Pant is the best wicketkeeper batter India has ever seen in the whites. No one can forget his contributions to the Indian Test Team. Plus, he was the emerging player of the season in the IPL 2018, which was his best season in the IPL. India misses his aggressive demeanor, as he’d step up to any bowler on the attack. Not to mention he is a left-handed batter which was a need in the Indian Team for a long time. This not only shows what mindset Rishabh Pant has but also tells how much skilled he is. We’ve already seen his potential before, but there’s no way this is from Rishabh Pant.

We have been waiting for any updates on Pant’s health for quite a long. But finally, we’ve got it. Many were predicting various time-frames where Pant could barge in and play cricket again. Although recently, all are clear on his rehab.
The BCCI has broken the silence, hinting at Rishabh Pant’s comeback. Their medical team has informed that Rishabh Pant is currently batting and wicketkeeping in the nets. According to the BCCI, realistically, Rishabh Pant’s comeback could be witnessed in the five-match test series of India VS England in 2024. This is even sooner than imagined because Pant was initially expected to miss even half of IPL 2024.
BCCI has also informed us that the southpaw is currently going through a fitness program focused on strength, flexibility, and running. He’s doing great at rehabilitation and hopefully, we see him back with flying colors. As life has given him a second chance for a very good reason, Pant would hopefully use it in his favor.
