With changes taking place every day in PCB, it has become very hard to keep track of who is what nowadays. The music has stopped once again, and the chairs up for grabs have been taken away. But in a game of PCB musical chairs, the music never stops, it keeps on going till all the chairs have been destroyed. Let’s take a look at the musical chairs being played in the Pakistan Cricket Camp.
When the music stops, the one sitting is the PCB Chairman
The fight for the big chair started when political instability was sensed in the country, to enter this game room, one needs to be a member of the Board of Governors (BOG), and for that you can work your way up from your region, or take the easy route where the Prime Minister can hand pick any two people from the crowd and have them added as BOG member, who by no coincidence also ends up becoming the Chairman.
The new game started when Rameez Raja was asked to leave, and so the music was played and burst in a jolly good old Najem Sethi who not only came into play the game but made promises of bringing in the good old times by also calling his previous buddies like Mickey Arthur (a separate game we will see down below).

While this game continues, out of nowhere bursts in Zaka Ashraf, Sethi’s arch nemesis. Just like how Batman could never kill the Joker, the same is the love and hate story between Sethi and Zaka. It’s only for the crowd to decide who the Joker is. The game would continue until a person jumps in and shuts down the music once and for all, Mohsin Naqvi is his name
While the music has been shut for the chairman seat for now, rumours are with Mohsin Naqvi also sitting on the Interior Minister of Pakistan seat, the music can again start beating at PCB Headquarters.
The music has stopped, and every Selector has a chair to sit on
Meanwhile, in another room, there is another game going on, in this game, we are going to see who is to become the Chief Selector. The music for this game started when Mohammad Wasim left his seat and out came Shahid Afridi, but like his batting, his innings as Chief Selector would not last very long as the music was again played on and soon Wahab Riaz also decided to join the game. More people like Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal wanted to be part of the exclusive group, but not everyone is allowed.
As Wahab groves and takes a seat, he now finds out he again has to play the game. This time the game for the selectors will be different as there will be no winner this time. Seven chairs have been placed and seven contestants exist. Muhammad Yousaf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, the team captain, the team head coach and a data analyst are taking part in this game.
The music stops, and guess what, everyone’s a winner. Kamran Akmal looks at Razzaq who looks at Shafiq and all feel proud about being a winner. Meanwhile, Wahab Riaz sits and wonders what just happened.
The music is about to start again, we need a new Captain again
The issue here is that when Babar Azam was removed as captain last time, the music was prematurely stopped, and in that premature incident we saw Shaheen Afridi become the captain.
But there can always be a redo, so the music for this game starts just before the PSL, the entrants seem to be the PSL captains. Shaheen Afridi seems confused about what is happening, but he has no other choice but to join in while Shahid Afridi cheers for him weaning pompoms.
The music is about to stop, and it looks like Mohammad Rizwan is about to sit, no wait, Shadab Khan comes out of 3 spots behind and grabs the chair and as he is about to sit, Mr Naqvi, the match referee for this match, has decided to halt the play.
Further footage is still being analyzed and there are rumours that there is a clip in the footage where Babar got his hand on the seat and can adjust the winner.
The announcement for winner of this seat is to be announced very soon, stay tuned. But don’t worry losers, we will have a new musical chair for the captaincy again in a few months after the World T20
