The Pakistan cricket team did not do well in the World Cup they could have done better performance than this, in the World Cup, they were looking dull Pakistan had good form in the series before the World Cup where they defeated the likes of New Zealand and Afghanistan also they had reached final of T20 World Cup 2022. But it was a different format, so what could be the reason for this drastic change in the form of the Pakistan Cricket team?
Pakistan cricket team Problems are arising in the World Cup
Pakistan had lost to Afghanistan which had never won against Pakistan in the world cup. They had only won 4 out of their 9 matches. The Pakistan cricket team’s performance was also not good enough to win the other 5 matches. There was less enthusiasm shown by the Pakistan team in this World Cup.
Pakistan cricket team’s weak bowling in World Cup
The bowling of the Pakistan cricket team was not incredible in this World Cup with the sudden rise of the problem of Pakistan in the middle order due to which Pakistan can not get wickets because of the lack of spinners and wicket-taking fast bowlers. Pakistan is doing good in starting overs and death. So they have to get a wrist spinner or chinamen bowler for this over who can take wickets and can be economical.
Pakistan’s effortless batting in the World Cup
The batting of Pakistan has not been good in the World Cup. With the lack of good innings by openers and not having a good opening combination that could give Pakistan a fiery start, there was a lack of stability in the middle order where Babar Azam and Rizwan scored some runs, where Babar Azam was a total failure. Shadab and Nawaz were not good all-rounders nor doing good bowling or batting.

Potential Future of Pakistan cricket team – Pakistan cricket team to find trustable openers and middle-order batsman
Pakistan cricket board has to invest in domestic talents or in PSL talents to find some good batsmen because current middle-order batsmen except Babar and Rizwan all are trash there has not been a no. 5, or 6 batsman for the Pakistan cricket team who can stop collapses and finish the game with brilliant knocks. They also have to find some raw talents to discover who they can be the stars of the future.
Players like Taiyab Tahir, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Harris, Khushdil Shah, Azam Khan, Asif Ali, Shan Masood, and Haider Ali are some talented domestic and PSL talents who can be potentially best for the future of the Pakistan cricket team, they had batted well in PSL and for its respective domestic regions.
Pakistan cricket team has to search for some good spinners and fast bowlers
After the disastrous performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the world cup which can be due to the lack of good spinners and good medium pacers in the squad. Pakistan has a rich history of fast bowling. They had been deadly in past World Cups but in this World Cup, they had been some failure.
With the changing form of bowlers, they should pick new fast bowlers and give them experience to show their dedication and focus in the sport. They had a bunch of players to pick from like Abbas Afridi, Ihsanullah, Usama Mir, Zaman Khan, Anwar Ali, Akif Javed, Qais Ahmed, Aamir Jamal, and Abrar Ahmed.
Captainship of Pakistan after the stepdown of Babar Azam from captaincy
After the disastrous performance of Pakistan in the World Cup 2023, Babar Azam decided to step down from the captaincy of all the formats; perhaps he will continue to play in all the formats. PCB has announced some new captains for all the formats, Shaheen Shah Afridi has been appointed as the T20 captain of the Pakistan cricket team and Shan Masood who has done good captaincy for his domestic team has been announced as the captain of the test team of Pakistan cricket team.
There will be some questions on Babar Azam for stepping out from captaincy, but we can not say anything because it’s his personal decision. Shaheen has won his PSL team this year’s Pakistan Super League title so he is the perfect candidate for the T20 team. We hope that he and Shan Masood will make the Pakistan cricket team good in every format.
The Pakistan cricket team should keep these players in mind for Future tournaments to avoid this type of disastrous performance in any tournament.
Final thoughts from my side
We also hope that the decision to step down from captaincy did not come from the pressure created by some organisation or any person, without knowing anything we can not say anything but we all know that the Pakistan Cricket team and Pakistan Cricket Board are all influenced politically. These should not happen but this all depends on the government which should keep politics out of cricket and sports.
