South Africa at T20 World Cup 2026:Squad Overview
Proteas officially announced their 15-member squad, which features a blend of experienced players and new call-ups.
Top Order Batsman:
For the quick start and to maximize the power play, South Africa added a handsome, experienced, and left-handed wicket-keeper, who reversed his retirement from ODI cricket in September 2025, Quinton de Kock, also known for his good strike rate. Skipper Aiden Markaram will lead the side and also provide assistance to De Kock in the power play. Notably, Tony de Zorzi, who make debut in the T20 World Cup, is part of the squad as well and looks in action at number three.
Middle Order:
David Miller was left-handed and capable of handling pressure with strike-rotating and power-hitting, ready to face a challenge in the middle overs; along with his young and stylish batsman, Dewald Brevis, who stepped onto the World Cup for the first time, further making the middle order stronger.

In multi-skill players, senior Marco Jansen is ready to represent his country in the World Cup; whereas, Corbin Bosch, Donovan Ferreira, George Linde, and Jason Smith are also participating in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Bosch and Smith are fast bowlers of All-Rounders, while Linde and Ferreira take over the spin department.
Bowling Unit:
The pace attack is led by Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, both of whom are returning from injuries; in addition to this, Kwena Maphaka, who will be first outing in the T20 World Cup, is also part of the Proteas side. Moreover, Keshav Maharaj will lead the spin department.
Probable Playing 11:
Quinton de Kock and Skipper Aiden Markaram will open the side then Tony de Zorzi comes in on one-down position. Moreover, David Miller and Dewald Brevis will assist the team in middle order.
