PFF Stance On The New League
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially declared the franchise-based Pakistan Football League (PFL) illegal as per its statutes, stating that the event, claimed to be held next month, has not been sanctioned by the federation. The PFF, affiliated with FIFA and the AFC, is the sole governing body for football in Pakistan.
Reinforced by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) since September 9, 2014, the PFF is the recognized authority for any national football activities. Participating in or supporting any unsanctioned football event violates Article 82 of the PFF constitution and could result in disciplinary action. The PFF encourages projects aimed at genuine football development in Pakistan, provided they are approved by the federation.
