Ten Hag’s Time is up! Not even an FA Cup win for Manchester United can save him anymore

The dire state of Manchester United has nearly confirmed the exit of the boss, Erik Ten Hag. An unlikely win at Saturday’s masterpiece event, the FA Cup at Wembley will also not be able to keep his seat. But for that to happen, United would have to confront the harsh truth in the form of Manchester City.

A historic season for United but for entirely bad reasons. A negative goal difference, along with their lowest finish in the Premier League history. What else could have gone wrong for them? A total of 14 matches were lost in the single edition of the league, compared to their overall losses of 19 in all the competitions.

Is the victory for Manchester United against City impossible?

Manchester United will be going into the FA Cup final with injuries to their key players in the form of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. Highly unlikely that United will beat City in the finals, but it is not entirely impossible. The Reds dashed out at Liverpool in all three games this season. An amazing quarterfinal victory in the FA Cup could be a tone-setter for them.

Match winners in United the likes of Rashford, Bruno Fernandez, and Garnacho could clinch a victory for them. But even if this miracle comes true, it won’t be enough to keep Erik Ten Hag at United’s dugout for even one season more.

Hope! A Lie for Manchester United and its fans

The words restart and turnaround has been nothing less than absolutely dreadful for the Red’s fans. Ten Hag’s promises were always falsified after small rays of hope were provided by the team. Occasional happiness was not long-lasting for Ten Hag’s side, and after a good game or two, they always came back to point zero.

Did Ten Hag get a notion that excuses could save him?

Trying to hide behind the injuries of the best players is not the way to go for someone like Erik. They are a reality and a part of the game. Cursing the luck of the team on the pitch and pointing out bad decisions is how he wanted to get away with a disastrous season.

One of the things that kept Ten Hag within the United’s doors was the uncertainty in the leadership of the club. The lack of Authority and alternatives kept him inside for a long time, but things and circumstances have changed. Despite his able to win the FA Cup on Saturday, it won’t undo the damages done to the club in the entire season.
