The British driver thinks that he could only win more races by being with his team. “Lewis wants five years, and if it were just a one-year extension I don’t think he’d accept it,” a Mercedes insider told the British newspaper.
Another hurdle for Mercedes is that even though George Russell has made peace with the 38-year-old driver, he would not accept being in shadow for a longer term.
The Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff has hinted that Lewis Hamilton’s Future with Mercedes could be solved after the Canadian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton has provided no more update on the contract but he has stated that Toto is a great friend of his and the matter will be solved, next week or next month. It doesn’t matter.
Lewis Hamilton’s F1 Career Future is still to be decided but by the looks, there is no other way for the British driver to win his eighth world championship with any other team.
