Exploring the Potential Lineup: Anticipated Squad for Team India in the Upcoming T20 World Cup

There are many young Indian players whose names are leaving their mark for the upcoming Cricket World Cup. Among these names, there are a few who could be part of the final squad for the T20 World Cup.

Rinku Singh :

Among these names, the one that has been gaining popularity in the past year is Rinku Singh. He has consistently performed well in the IPL every year and is known for hitting five sixes in an over. After his debut in the Indian team, he has played an important role as a finisher in all formats. He has scored 262 runs in 12 matches with a strike rate of 180. He will surely be part of the 2024 T20 World Cup squad.

Shubman Gill :

Another player who is performing outstandingly this year is Shubman Gill. He entered the T20 setup in 2023, playing as an opener and providing a balanced start to the team. He has scored 312 runs in the 13 matches he played this year. He is confirmed as an opener in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Yashasvi Jaiswal :

Next up is Yashasvi Jaiswal the left-hand batsman who is doing well this year with a glorious hundred scored in Asian games. He also plays as an opener and has demolished many bowlers this year, scoring 430 runs in 15 matches with a strike rate of 160. His form will take him as an opener in the T20 World Cup 2024

Suryakumar Yadav :

Everybody knows about Mr. 360 degrees. He comes in the middle order and bashes every spinner and fast bowler he faces, he can play shots in every corner of the ground, and he played in the 2022 T20 World Cup squad also where he has played some good knocks. This year also he has solidified the no. 4th spot in the Indian team. He scored 733 runs in 18 T20 matches with 2 incredible hundreds.
He Definitely will be in the 2024 T20 World Cup squad.

Ravindra Jadeja / Axar patel  :

He is a prominent spin all-rounder who has been playing continuously in the Indian team for many years. Ravindra Jadeja has played many special innings this year; sadly, he is getting older, so he will not feature in the 2027 ODI World Cup, as we thought. He is an off-spinner and has taken 18 wickets and scored 312 runs in only 14 matches. Jadeja is the best spin all-rounder for India as can be seen in the 2024 T20 World Cup squad.

Another spin all-rounder on this list is Axar Patel, Additionally, he is an off-spinner. Although he has not performed exceptionally well with the bat and ball, he can serve as a backup for Jadeja. He has scored 190 runs and taken 11 wickets in 11 T20 matches.

Virat Kohli :

The run machine has scored consistently every year since his debut in the Indian cricket team. His IPL 2023 season was his second-best season so far, after 2016, where he scored 900+ runs. In our perspective, Virat Kohli will be the ideal No. 3 batsman for Team India in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

KL Rahul / Shreyas Iyer:

KL Rahul has been part of some of the best Indian batters who can bat at any position the team needs. The Karnataka player has been a part of the Indian team for a long time. Many times he has kept wickets and handled the role with reluctance. Kl Rahul will be part of the Indian T20 World Cup squad because of his experience and skills.

Shreyas Iyer has been playing effectively for India since his debut in 2017, solving India’s middle-order problem. He has performed well in the recent T20 series and the ODI World Cup. Additionally, he can also lead India in any format. He can also fit into the T20 World Cup squad of 2024.

Kuldeep Yadav / Ravi Bishnoi :

There was a time when Kuldeep was entirely excluded from the setup of the Indian cricket team due to a loss of form. After some time, he changed his action and bowling technique. Subsequently, he was picked by Delhi Capitals in the IPL, where he made a comeback by taking a couple of wickets in every match. From there, he never looked back and successfully made his comeback to the Indian cricket team. In 10 matches, he has taken 15 wickets.

Ravi Bishnoi has been a young talent in the Indian team; he shines every time he is given an opportunity. In 18 matches, he has taken a total of 29 wickets. He will be a priority in the spinner department if he continues to perform like this in upcoming matches as well.

Jasprit Bumrah :

Bumrah has played fewer T20I matches but performed admirably in the ODI World Cup 2023. Hopefully, he does not get injured again. The Yorker king has been economical in the IPL, getting 4 wickets in the 2 matches he played. He played fewer matches due to injury concerns, which is why he performed well in the World Cup 2024.

Mohammad Shami / Arshdeep Singh:

We witnessed Shami’s performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 where he was among the leading wicket-takers, having taken 20+ wickets. He will surely be looking to secure his spot in the T20 World Cup. His experience and effective bowling can be factors contributing to his success in all formats..

Arshdeep Singh did severe damage to the opposition in the 2022 World Cup, he was one of the top wicket-takers in the 2022 T20 World Cup squad. In the 20 matches of the T20i, he grabbed a total of 28 wickets. By Looking at his form we can expect him as a fast bowler in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Mohammad Siraj / Mukesh Kumar :

The Mia magic has been great so far with the ball in the starting overs in the ODI World Cup 2023. Indians will surely be looking for him in the starting overs because, with the new ball, he is a beast.

The other bowler for this position is Mukesh Kumar, Indian selectors are looking at him as a three-format bowler because he is regularly selected in the ODI, test, and T20 squads. But he has not done any special performance so far. In 12 matches in  2023, he has taken only 10 wickets.

Tilak Verma / jitesh Sharma –

He is the ideal no. 3 for India after Virat Kohli in T20i, he has proven himself from time to time he can also play at no.4 or no 5. He is an aggressive batsman and can be a future asset for Team India.

He has played several match-winning knocks in the past Ipl matches. In the 15 matches he played this year he scored a total of  310 runs with a strike rate of 140+.

Another player is Jitesh Sharma who will keep the wickets for the team and has been phenomenal with batting in the last overs. In the year 2023, he played 7 matches and scored 69 runs as a finisher.
