The ICC Men`s Cricket World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of this prestigious cricket tournament. It has been scheduled between October 5, 2023, and November 19, 2023. Initially, the event was supposed to take place from 9th February to 26th March 2023, but the dates were moved to October and November 2023, due to COVID-19 respectively.
Host:
This will be the first time that India will be hosting the whole ICC Cricket Men`s World Cup on its own after having co-hosted previous tournaments in 1987 (with Pakistan), 1996 (with West Pakistan and Ceylon), and 2011 (with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh)
Teams and Matches:
A total of 48 matches are set to be played: the 10 teams will clash in a 45-match round-robin league, which the semi-finals and final will follow. Out of those 10 Teams 8 have been finalized i.e. Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand, India, Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, and England respectively. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, West Indies, The Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, Nepal, USA, and UAE, will be playing the Qualifier for the remaining two spots.
Venues:
The venues are yet to be finalized, but 12 venues have been supposedly finalized as per ESPNcricinfo: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai are among the shortlisted sets. The final is being played in the World’s Largest Stadium i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Schedule:
While the ICC usually announces the schedule for a World Cup well in advance, they are yet to do so for the upcoming edition. For the 2019 World Cup in England, the schedule was announced in April 2018. The governing body of the game is likely to announce the schedule soon. But for the time being The Board of Control for Cricket in India has given the International Cricket Council(ICC) a draft Schedule for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. According to that draft schedule England and New Zealand will be playing the inaugural match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The most anticipated match is likely to take place on 15 October between Pakistan and India at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad. Furthermore, Pakistan will be starting its World Cup journey on October 6, 2023, in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, according to the draft schedule presented by the BCCI, team India will open their ICC World Cup 2023 account against Australia.
