Australia have strengthened their squad for Pakistan ODIs ahead of the first game, beginning May 30. The side has announced bringing in all-rounder Cooper Connolly as a replacement for the injured Mitchell Marsh.
Australia forced to make changes to squad for Pakistan ODIs
Marsh, who sustained an ankle injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL), will remain in Perth for further assessment and treatment. The Australian captain had already been forced to sit out Lucknow Super Giants’ final game of the tournament due to the same complaint.
With Marsh unavailable, Josh Inglis will lead the side against Pakistan. The wicketkeeper batter has led Australia on four previous occasions, all of which came against Pakistan in 2024. This will be his first away stint as a captain.

Connolly’s time in IPL
Connolly arrives in strong form after an impressive IPL campaign with Punjab Kings, where he accumulated 491 runs across 13 innings at an average of 44.63 and a strike rate of 163. Having made his debut in September 2024, the all-rounder has played eight ODIs for Australia, three of which were in away conditions.
The two teams will face each other in Rawalpindi for the first ODI game on May 30. This will be the first time that Australia will play an ODI game at the venue since 1994. Following the opening game, both teams will travel to Lahore for the next two games on June 2 and June 4.
