From being the team to win two world cups on trout from now, not being able to qualify for the mega event, a massive fall of champions two-time champions now falling to qualify. With losing to Netherlands and Scotland today it is imminent that two-time world champions will not be part of the world cup 2023 set to be held in India.

Their main players don’t even want to play for their own country just because they can earn good money in the respected leagues, with the likes of Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and many more prioritizing the leagues instead of playing for the leagues and not giving importance to their own country is surely a point to worry about.

Reason for Downfall:
The main reason for the fall of champions has been the lack of good resources in their board and management. They must find those inspirational management personalities that can inspire those donning the Windies jersey; they should be knowing what this jersey does mean for them and their players; they didn’t only disappoint themselves, but they did disappoint their whole fanbase in the Caribbean and also in the cricket fraternity who remember windies producing the likes of great living legends. The main reason for the fall of champions is that there is lots of political interference in WICB, and they select the players they like or are from their country. Windies is an association made by 10 different island countries to form one team, so this also raises the situation of favoritism in the team.

Solutions for the betterment:
We know there has been a fall of champions but the betterment of the team and for the sake of cricket lovers in the Caribbean. They must make some changes in the management and should include those players who know the value of downing the Marron jersey and know the importance of the Marron jersey. WICB should improve its facilities at the basic level to uplift the standard of cricket in the region. They should give the younger players that are the future of Windies cricket the best possible facilities with the best level of mentors available for them so that they can inspire for the better of cricket.
