Will Hamilton’s Ferrari switch pay off?

Earlier this year, in February, we heard about the most trending news in the form of Hamilton’s Ferrari switch and his leaving the Mercedes squad after a long time spent there. But the speculations have started to gain momentum and the debate has started to take place, about whether the move from Mercedes to Ferrari, will prove to be successful or not for the 7 time World Champion.

Experts Voice on Hamilton’s Ferrari Switch:

According to the Former HAAS team principal, Steiner, Lewis Hamilton has made the right decision.

“It looks like he is making the right decision, He did it when he left McLaren to go to Mercedes, so maybe he got this one right as well, “ Steiner.

Furthermore, he said:
“But I think for him it’s more about the new challenge. He has been in the team for 11 years, won six championships, good relationships there. I think it’s just the last step of his career he wants a new challenge. And, your last challenge being Ferrari, it’s a nice thing to have the opportunity to do.”

Berni Collins, from Aston Martin, believes that the shift for the British racer would be a difficult challenge. He said:

“I think the Ferrari step for him is going to be a massive challenge. He has never driven a Ferrari power car, all of the engine modes that are all different, the team ethos is different.”

Mercedes Boss, Toto Wolff, had also something to say:

“I can’t imagine him in red. I don’t think it suits him. But I think that picture is going to be interesting,” said Wolff.

Hamilton’s Beliefs:

According to the Mercedes Star:

“I feel like… it was the hardest decision that I think I’ve ever had to make. I’ve been with Mercedes for, I think it’s like 26 years they’ve supported me, and we’ve had an incredible journey together. We’ve created history within the sport, and it’s something I take a lot of pride in and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved.”

Hamilton’s Ferrari switch will bring him back to Fred Vasseur, his acquaintance from the days back in Junior races and Formula 3. His verdict on this was:
“I’ve got a great relationship with Fred,” he explained. “Obviously I raced with him in Formula 3, and we had amazing success in Formula 3 and also in GP2, and that’s really where the foundation of our relationship started. We just always remained in touch. I thought that he was going to be an amazing team manager at some stage and progress to Formula 1, but at the time he wasn’t interested in that. It was cool to see him step into the Alfa [Romeo] team and then when he got the job at Ferrari I was just so happy for him, and I think just the stars aligned. I think it really wouldn’t have happened without him, so I’m really grateful and really excited about the work that he’s doing there.”

Our Verdict:

Being the most interesting news since the start of this year, Hamilton’s Ferrari switch next year is going to bring a lot of heat into the competition. Lewins doesn’t shy away from a healthy challenge and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the Ferrari one.
