The Return of Tennis in the form of Wimbledon 2024

Wimbledon 2024 started on Monday, the 1st of July, as the world’s finest players battled it out on the grass courts of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Wimbledon, one of the crown jewels of the British sporting summer, will be played from 1st July to 14th July.

The Return of Emma Raducanu:

The British Sensation, Emma Raducanu, was afflicted with injuries on both wrists and ankles, twelve months ago. She underwent surgeries on both the wrists alongside her ankles. 

After missing the Grand Slam event due the injuries, the British player was back on the hunt with a smile on her face. Here is what she had to say about her struggles last year:
“It was really hard last year because you would walk through the player  tunnel, see your peers going to practice, going to play their match. Being on the other just really stung it. It wasn’t nice and I didn’t really watch any of the tennis either” said the US Open 2021 winner.

Andy Murray’s Farewell Tournament

Andy Murray is ready to say goodbye to his professional tennis career. What a stage to do that! But it is a shame that injuries are paving the way to hinder his dream of a perfect closure. He is currently experiencing back problems requiring surgery on spinal cyst. The two-time champion Andy Murray is doubtful of playing the singles for the last time in his career. 

The British player had this to comment on his condition:
“I’m just trying to do what I can, trying to keep progressing each day. Whether there’s enough time or not, I don’t know, but I’m trying”.
