The Most Impactful T20I Innings Of Last Decade.

This statistical analysis unveils the significance of individual batting performances in T20 cricket, shedding light on the concept of Runs Above Average Replacement (RAAR). RAAR, a metric devised to measure the difference between expected runs and actual runs scored by a batter, provides a deeper understanding of player contributions beyond mere runs on the scoreboard.

Again, defining RAAR: Its difference between expected runs and actual runs of a batter, the primary metric here is expected runs which is calculated by me by considering 3 factors and their influence on the batting runs, these factors are,

1️⃣ Innings Run Rate before the ball.
2️⃣ Wickets Down before the ball.
3️⃣ Number of Balls remaining before the ball was bowled.

Then with each unique combination of these three factors, the runs scored were taken as naive averages to predict the expected runs when this combination would occur again. Nearly, more than 1.6 million deliveries were processed ball by ball to predict expected runs.

What’s particularly intriguing is the meticulous methodology employed to calculate expected runs. By considering variables such as innings run rate, wickets down, and the number of balls remaining before each delivery, the analysis delves into the nuanced dynamics of batting in T20 cricket. Through processing over 1.6 million deliveries, the expected runs for each unique combination of these factors were predicted, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of batting performances.
