Where the Spanish Grand Prix will take place:

The Spanish Grand Prix will be at the Barcelona circuit- Spain’s capital. The track for this race is 2.894 miles and is a perfect all-rounder because of high and low-speed corners.

Pirelli Tyre Compunds:

The track for this race is hot and polished. That’s why Pirelli announced the teams’ three compounds (C1-C3).

  • Hard- C1
  • Medium-C2
  • Soft-C3

C-1:

This compound was introduced in 2023 and is the second-highest tyre. Its range covers the performance gap between C0( first hardest tyre compound) and C2.

C-2:

It is the third hardest tire compound and is perfect for fast and hot routes. Mostly, teams prefer tyres of this range due to 66 loops.

C-3:

This compound is softer, but not in common use. This is the third time when this tyre compound got selected. The first being at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix and the second at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Results of Spanish Grand Prix 2023:

In 2023, Max Verstappen dominated a routine victory in his Redbull. Mercedes was a little bit brighter rising to the second and the third steps of the podium after the team had been steadily improving their car not long before, and this was in turn served as the culminating peak in the course of the season and the high point of the team’s development program.

This was a major issue for the Ferrari team considering Sainz went from the second position in the starting order to the fifth by the end of the race whereas Leclerc started 19th and made little TOP 10 impression in the race.

POSITION DRIVER CONSTRUCTOR  TIME
Max Verstappen Red Bull 1:27:57.940
Lewis Hamilton Mercedes +24.090
George Russell Mercedes +32.389
Sergio Perez Red Bull +35.812
Carlos Sainz Ferrari +45.698

Predictions:

This Spanish Grand Prix is going to be a traditional race circuit with fast corners. This event should benefit championship-wise teams such as Red Bull hence making Verstappen a favourite for success in Spain.

Some of the shortcomings of the RB20 have been felt over curbs and bumps in recent racing scenarios, and the design of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will pose normal technical configuration to high-speed corners.

The fight between Ferrari, McLaren, and Merc should give a good idea of how the remaining portion of the competitiveness for the best teams will be.
