On Saturday, January 4, all six PSL franchises revealed the much-anticipated list of retained players ahead of the 2025 draft, which will take place on 11 January. Earlier this week, PSL announced the list of foreign players who registered for the draft.
Each Team can retain a maximum of 8 players from their last year’s players pool. Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators have taken full advantage and retained eight players while the remaining three teams retained seven players which will give them more flexibility in the draft.

Lahore Qalandars Player Retentions
Lahore Qalandars have retained Shaheen Afridi and Fakhar Zaman in the platinum category. Haris Rauf who will also be the brand ambassador has been retained in Diamond alongside Sikandar Raza.

Islamabad United Player Retentions
Defending champions Islamabad United have retained their skipper Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah. Imad Wasim has been named team mentor and retained in the diamond category with Azam Khan. Salman Ali Aga was retained in gold as a brand ambassador.

Karachi Kings Player Retention
In a surprising move, Karachi Kings have not retained any players in the platinum category. This will allow them to pick new foreign players. Hassan Ali and James Vince have been retained in the gold category. Captain Shan Masood who was demoted to the gold category has also been retained alongside Irfan Khan Niazi.

Quetta Gladiators Player Retention
Quetta Gladiators have not retained any player in the platinum category. Muhammad Amir has been named team mentor and retained in Diamond with the likes of Abrar Ahmed and Rille Rossow.
