Pakistan Prepares For FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Changes In Pakistan Squad

Pakistan’s national football team is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, with a training camp scheduled to begin on May 15, 2024, in Islamabad. The team will play two crucial matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan in June.

Pakistan will host Saudi Arabia on June 6 at Jinnah Stadium Islamabad, followed by an away game against Tajikistan on June 11 at the Pamir Stadium Dushanbe.

Changes Expected in Pakistan Squad

According to sources, fresh faces are expected to join the team, including KRL’s goalkeeper Tanvir Mumtaz and midfielder Junaid. PAF’s midfielders Faheem Khan and under-16 left-back Abdul Rehman are also likely to be part of the camp. 

Coach Stephen Constantine has prepared a 32-member list, which includes five officials. The team is hoping to turn things around after a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign.

Goalkeeper Adam Khan called up for camp

Two Rovers have received international calls. One is the goalkeeper, Adam Khan who has received a maiden call for the Pakistan international team. Adam Khan will also join the Pakistan camp taking place from 15th May.

National Challenge Cup 2024 performers ignored

Salman Kaka, the best goalkeeper in the National Challenge Cup 2024 has been ignored. Pakistan camp scheduled on May 15 has started but Salman Kaka isn’t called for the camp. Similarly, Waleed is out and Mamoon is added at the last minute. The Pakistan squad list has been revised three times in the last 4 hours. 

Saudi Arabia Delegation Arrives in Islamabad

A two-member delegation from Saudi Arabia arrived in Pakistan to inspect the facilities and pitch of Jinnah Stadium in preparation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The delegation includes Claudio Donatelli, the team’s fitness coach, and Musab Ibrahim, the manager of logistics for the Saudi Arabian national football team.
