Pakistan Announces Squad for T20 World Cup 2024

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the final 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place next month in the USA and the Caribbean. The squad will be captained by Babar Azam, one of the world’s leading batsmen.

Among the new faces is Abbas Afridi, who will be making his debut in a World Cup squad. Abbas has earned his place through impressive performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and recent international matches. He will join a formidable pace attack that includes Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

The team also includes power hitters and versatile all-rounders such as Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Azam Khan. Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are expected to provide explosive starts, while Mohammad Rizwan will play a crucial role in anchoring the innings during the death overs.

The Green Shirts are currently in England, where they are playing four T20 internationals from May 22 to 30, their final series before the World Cup. The deadline for squad announcements, set by the International Cricket Council (ICC), is May 25.
