The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its inductees for the prestigious PCB Hall of Fame Class of 2024 on Friday, honouring four legendary cricketers.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Mohammad, and Saeed Anwar have been inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame for 2024.
PCB Hall of Fame: Celebrating Cricketing Legends
The PCB Hall of Fame serves as a prestigious recognition platform for the icons of Pakistan cricket, honoring those who have left an indelible mark on the sport. Established to acknowledge exceptional contributions and performances, this hall currently celebrates the achievements of legends like Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.
Selection Process for Inductees
This year’s selection process for the Hall of Fame inductees was led by a distinguished panel that included an array of cricketing experts. Among them were Hall of Famers Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas, along with former captain Azhar Ali, renowned women’s cricketers Bismah Maroof and Nain Abidi, and cricket journalists and analysts such as Majid Bhatti, Mohi Shah, Muhammad Yaqoob, Nauman Niaz, Sawera Pasha, and Zahid Maqsood. Their collective expertise ensured a fair and comprehensive evaluation of the candidates based on their contributions to both national and international cricket.

Mushtaq Mohammad
Mushtaq Mohammad is celebrated for his exceptional leadership skills and pioneering contributions to Pakistan cricket. Serving as captain, he notably led the team to its first Test victory in Australia in 1977 and coached the squad to the final of the 1999 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. His influence on the game extends beyond his playing days and into the realm of coaching.
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Inzamam-ul-Haq, a formidable middle-order batter, was pivotal in Pakistan’s illustrious 1992 World Cup win. His tenure from 1991 to 2007 marked him as one of Pakistan’s finest players, known for his match-winning abilities and significant role in various memorable victories for the national team.
Misbah-ul-Haq
Misbah-ul-Haq’s leadership skills brought Pakistan to prominence, achieving the No. 1 Test ranking in 2016. Representing Pakistan from 2001 to 2017, his strategic acumen on the field was complemented by a string of commendable performances, including a historic Test series win in the West Indies in 2017.
Saeed Anwar
Saeed Anwar, one of the most graceful openers in cricket history, represented Pakistan from 1989 to 2003. Accumulating 31 centuries and 68 half-centuries throughout his career, Anwar is revered for his classic batting style and his ability to perform against the world’s best bowlers, making significant contributions in multiple World Cups.
