A Dream coming close to reality for the Andretti-Cadillac partnership, as they move towards their entry into the F1 circuit. FIA has approved the bid proposed by Andretti Motorsports in partnership with GM brand Cadillac. This approval gives their bid a step ahead where the F1 owners will make the final decision, considerations of which could take a number of months.
Andretti-Cadillac will be the 11th team on the F1 Circuit, awaiting approval from the F1 owners. FIA has introduced a new application system for the teams seeking a seat amongst the F1 squads. The windows for which it is provided are 2025, 2026, and 2027. There will be new Engine regulations taking place in 2026. So the joining team in 2026 would have to keep that in check.

An assessment of the Andretti-Cadillac bid is supposed to be completed over the course of a few months. Both the FIA and Formula One, which is commercially owned by Liberty Media, have a say in the matter of including new teams on the roster.

F1 Statement on Andretti-Cadillac Bid:
According to the official statement released by F1:
“We note the FIA’s conclusions in relation to the first and second phases of their process and will now conduct our own assessment of the merits of the remaining application.”
There were multiple teams in the contest for this seat on the table in F1, but only four could be selected. FIA assured that Andretti was as the quoted: “ the only candidate to meet the stringent criteria”. Their selection criteria were: “sporting and technical ability, the ability of the team to raise and maintain sufficient funding to allow participation in the championship at a competitive level and the team’s experience and human resources”.
How Andretti’s ambition would go ahead with F1 teams giving mixed reactions to their inclusion?
Andretti has been dreaming of entering the F1 for a long time now. They wanted to buy into Alfa Romeo but failed to. Now they have come up with a partnership with GM Motors brand Cadillac to provide them with the engine. Existing teams have given somewhat an array of different responses.
To an indifferent response by F1 teams, Michael Andretti gave a reply through an interview in Forbes, by saying: “all about greed and looking at themselves”. Let’s see how this Andretti-Cadillac Partnership fares in this journey.
