Title Fight Continues

McLaren is the team to beat this year; they have won 12 out of 14 races so far. The title fight between Oscar Piastri and Norris will continue at the Dutch GP. Only nine points separate the two drivers, with Piastri leading. Both drivers have been fighting a close battle. Piastri has won six races, while Norris has won five.

Before the summer break, Ferrari also stepped up their game as Charles Leclerc got pole position, although he failed to finish in the top three. Ferrari is looking strong and can challenge McLaren’s dominance.

Can Max Verstappen win his home race?

Since the return of the Dutch Grand Prix in 2021, Max Verstappen has dominated. However, since the second half of 2024, everything changed for Red Bull, and the car is no longer as dominant as it once was. Verstappen was not able to win his home race. This year, the Dutchman has won two races so far, and can he win another one in front of the orange army, or will someone else deny him victory at home, as happened last year?

So far, the driver’s championship seems out of reach for the 27-year-old, but he has a reputation for fighting till the end.  Talking to the media on Thursday, when asked if he still has championship ambitions, the four-time champion replied ” No, not, really”.

Williams’ Resurgence

William’s turnaround has been an impressive story so far. The team did not score a single point in the 2020 season and was sold. Under the leadership of Team Principal James Vowles, two years of hard work have transformed the team into a midfield challenger.

With Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz as their driver pairing, the team is looking stronger than it has in years. Grove-based outfit has 70 points, just 14 points short of their combined points of the last four years. The team has three times on number five this year.

Williams will be the team to watch throughout the year, and Dutch GP, this story will continue.

With the F1’s return from summer break, all focus would be on Zandvoort. McLaren’s title fight, Max Verstappen’s potential home comeback, and William’s rise are the key stories to focus on for the 2025 Dutch GP
