An 18-member Pakistani squad has been confirmed for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. The squad features players from the athletics, shooting, and swimming categories. Paris Olympics are set to be staged globally from July 26 with the Pakistani National team set to compete.

Squad Overview for Paris Olympics 2024
Athletes from the Pakistani squad will compete in the 3 major sports categories at the Paris Olympics 2024, including athletics, shooting, and swimming. Although the squad is small, the diverse categories reflect much to be explored as great talent lies in our country’s base.
Flag Bearers:
Either one of the shooters Kishmala Talat or Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem will lead the Pakistani contingent during the opening ceremony. These athletes are currently at the top of the food chain in their respective fields. Hence, this justifies their representation of Pakistan.
Athletics:
Arshad Nadeem and Faiqa Riaz will represent Pakistan in athletics. They aim to excel in their respective events:
- Arshad Nadeem: Javelin Throw competition
- Faiqa Riaz: Competing in the 100m Sprint

Shooting
The shooting team consists of three talented shooters:
- Ghulam Mustafa Bashir: Competing in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event
- Gulfam Joseph: Competing in the 10m Air Pistol Individual and 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team events
- Kishmala Talat: Competing in the 10m Air Pistol Individual, 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team, and 25m Pistol Individual events
Coached by extensively experienced Gandy and Junaid Ali, the athletes will try to perform their best in the event.
Swimming
The swimming team includes:
- Ahmed Durrani: Competing in the 200m Freestyle
- Jehanara Nabi: Competing in the 200m Freestyle
- Ahmad Ali Khan: Also part of the swimming team
Team officials Haji Mohammad Shafiq and Javed Lodhi will be alongside the swimmers, coaching and providing them guidance.
Departure Schedule
Players from different categories will depart for the event at amazing timelines. Firstly, the delegation’s departure will be travelling on July 19 with the shooting team. Then the swimmers and officials on July 22, and the athletics team on July 24.
Hopes and Expectations
After the dismal performance in the Tokyo Olympics medals are expected from Arshad Nadeem, particularly in the javelin throw. Everybody will be expecting him to deliver his best, in a bid to clinch a medal and thus, give the nation a reason to smile.
