Kickoff Chaos: National Challenge Cup Semi-Finals Review 

After a 16-month, the National Challenge Cup finally kicked off on May 1, 2024, at the Jinnah Sports Complex. Six thrilling matchdays, quarterfinals, and semifinals later, We have our two finalists: Sa Garden and WAPDA The stage is set for an electrifying showdown on 12 May. Who will claim the coveted title? The suspense is killing the fans!!!

Semi-Finals

SA Gardens VS HEC

SA Gardens, who previously defeated WSTC in the quarterfinals, faced off against HEC, the underdogs who had stunned six-time National Challenge Cup winners KRL in the quarter-finals. The first semifinal ended in a 0-0 stalemate at full time, forcing a penalty shootout to determine the winner. SA Gardens emerged victorious, winning the shootout 3-2 and shattering HEC’s dreams. With this win, SA Gardens secured their spot in the final.

PAK Army VS WAPDA

The second semifinal saw defending champions WAPDA take on three-time cup winners PAK Army. The match ended in a convincing 2-0 win for WAPDA, thanks to Ahmed Faheem’s expertly taken free kick in the 58th minute and a 90th-minute goal from the in-form Shayek Dost. With this win, WAPDA progressed to the final, aiming to secure back-to-back championships and cement their dominance in the tournament.

National Challenge Cup: The Final

The 30th edition of the National Challenge Cup will climax on May 12th at the iconic Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad. The highly anticipated final will feature defending champions WAPDA taking on S.A Gardens in a thrilling showdown.
